Announcement:

"Kabra Extrusion Technik Ltd. (KET) demonstrated its first 5 layer film plant at its new facility in Dunetha - Daman, India under brand name "KAGE" for film plants, manufactured by utilizing engineering designs and technology from Gloucester Engineering Co. Inc. USA. (GEC). KAGE lines are specifically engineered to meet the diverse challenges of the Blown Film Sector, The first 5 layer fully loaded line has been delivered to Prropyl Packs Ltd, Kerala. KAGE plants are specifically designed to produce Barrier Film at rates and quality levels that not only meet or exceed the markets requirements but also result in enhanced operational efficiency and higher flexibility for plastic manufacturers.

Technology and Quality demonstrated at the Open House

KET welcomed more than 100 invited members of the Flexible packaging Industry from India and overseas including special invitees from Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Nigeria, Srilanka, South Africa for an Open House held at its newly inaugurated factory at Dunetha Daman on Oct 11 &12, 2011.

The 5 Layer 2200 mm film line has applications in the packaging of oil, other barrier applications and is also used for the production of high quality Lamination Films. The line's output is up to 600 kg/hr and it has an installed capacity of 4000 T/year. The machine features Contra Cool Extruders with light groove feed technology introduced for the first time in India, 610 mm self-centering die utilizing encapsulated feed port technology, Ultracool 11 dual lip air ring with film thickness control utilizing Beta gauge measurement, IBC, carbon composite rollers for collapsers, and turret style center winders.

Output of 525 KG / HR on a 100 micron thick film for Oil Packaging applications was demonstrated during the Open House. Mr. Adam Blumenthal, Managing Partner of Blue Wolf Capital, was on site for both days of the show. Blue Wolf Capital is the majority owner of GFXT and Mr. Blumenthal was quoted as saying: "I am extremely proud to see the equipment run so well and am gratified to observe our customers openly embrace the KAGE brand. We look forward to continuing to serve both the world and Indian market with our KET partners and expanding KAGE's global market share."

Mr. Anand S. Kabra, Technical Director of KET or this occasion presented the salient features of GEC Technology and its synergy with KET experience and capability.

Mr. Carl Johnson, President of GEC and his team extended their continuous support to resolve all technical issues related to Blown Film Processing, final assembly and successful demonstration of KAGE lines. Mr. Carl Johnson appreciated the efforts put in and was overwhelmed by the tremendous response received from all the visitors.

During the open house presentation, Mr. Carl Johnson gave a detailed presentation cm the unique features of KAGE range of machineries. Raw Material manufacturers presented the multifold application and market potential of multi-layer films as well as specific grades requirements of polymers for such films.

Prropyl Packs will manufacture film for barrier applications, primarily oil packaging. They propose to market the barrier film mainly for oil packaging, vacuum packaging, and for packaging which needs enhanced shelf life. As Indian Government has mandated edible oil to be sold in packaged form only, barrier film packaging shall not only meet government packaging standards but also improve the shelf fife of packaged oil by protecting it against oxygen and moisture and ensure hygienic conditions. The total estimated demand for edible oil in India is 15. 6MMT and about half of that are sold loose, indicating a large untapped market for barrier films."
