"There have been no specific announcements by Walchandnagar Industries Ltd. in the recent past (since 8th January 15 till 26th January 15) as regards organizational performance, plans, etc. The spurt in volume in our opinion could be due to a general positive climate about the sectors that we are present in i.e. Defence, Aerospace and Nuclear. Recent build-up to President Obama’s visit to India and expectations of potential announcements in the fields of Defence Co-operation and taking forward the Indo-US Nuclear Co-operation may have been some factors related to spurt in volumes. Today, i.e. Tuesday, 27th January 2015, Mr G. K. Pillai, Managing Director & CEO, Walchandnagar Industries Ltd. was interviewed by CNBC – Awaaz and CNBC – Bazaar where he gave his interpretation of the outcome of President Obama’s visit to India and how India could benefit from the positive announcements made with respect to the Nuclear and Defence Sectors.
