| Exchange Disseminated Time | Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd has informed BSE that its forthcoming feature films Saluun and Ek Tho Chance have won the very prestigious REMI Awards at the 43rd Worldfest Houston International Film and Video Festival, 2010. Saluun, directed by newcomer Nikhil Bhat, won the Silver Remi in the Comedy Feature Film category while Ek Tho Chance, which marks the return of legendary filmmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza, won the Special Jury Award, the top award in foreign features at the festival.
In earlier years, PNC films Jhankaar Beats and Pyaar Ke Side/Effects have won the REMI award in the Comedy Feature Film category. This is a hat trick year at Houston for PNC, with its two new films winning the REMI for the third time.
The WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, founded in 1961, is the third oldest independent film festival in the US. Amongst noted winners at Worldfest are Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee and the Coen Brothers. |
