| Exchange Disseminated Time | Ambika Cotton Mills Ltd has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on January 30, 2010, has approved a proposal to enhance the Wind power capacity of the Company for the purpose of captive consumption from the present level of 15.4 MW to 26.6 MW by adding another 11.2 MW to the existing capacity in Tamilnadu. This is on account of TNERC order permitting wind energy generation for full set off against Units consumed from the grid power. This would meet 87.5% of the power requirement of the Company as against the present level of 50%.
In view of wind energy expansion, the Company has shelved the earlier proposal of 6 MW Bio-mass power plant meant for captive purposes. |
