"BGR Energy Systems Ltd (“BGR Energy”) has been awarded the Balance of Plant (BOP) Contract for 2 x 660 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project by Thermal Powertech Corporation India Ltd, Hyderabad promoted by Gayathri Projects, Hyderabad and Semcorp, Singapore.
The value of the Contract is Rs. 2,168 Crores. This is the 16th BOP / EPC contract that BGR Energy will be executing.
BGR Energy’s scope includes Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Fabrication, Assembly, Inspection, Testing, Transportation, Erection of Equipment, Civil Works, Structural Works, Commissioning and Guarantee Test for the Balance of Plant of 2 x 660 MW coal based Supercritical Thermal Power Project at Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The salient features of this green field project include one of the largest coal handling plant, sea water based RO Plant and Intake Water System from the sea for the makeup water to the plant. This project is funded by Rural Electrification Corporation (“REC”) as the lead lender with consortium of banks. The financial closure of the project has been achieved.
BGR Energy continues to be market leader in BOP contracting with proven capability for Design, Engineering, Project Management, Delivery, Construction and Commissioning of large projects. BGR Energy is the only Company in Private Sector to have completed and commissioned BOP of two power projects of 500 MW. Two more 500 MW projects are nearing completion and will be shortly commissioned.
BGR Energy has consolidated its position as an EPC Contractor by signing Joint Ventures with Hitachi of Japan for manufacture of Supercritical Boiler and Turbine of 660 MW to 1000 MW." |
