Transfer of Novartis India Limited’s OTC Division - Transaction Update

With reference to the earlier announcements on January 13, 2015 and August 28, 2015 respectively, and in light of recent developments, Novartis India Limited has now informed BSE an update on the status of the transfer of the Company’s OTC Division to GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Private Limited (“GSK CPL”), a private unlisted company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013.

On the basis of the approval received from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board, Government of India and the Competition Commission of India, the transaction for the transfer of the Company’s OTC Division to GSK CPL was completed on September 30, 2015.
