| Exchange Disseminated Time 07/01/2016 11:26:33 | Ortel Communications Ltd has informed BSE that Ortel Communications Limited (‘'Ortel”) had moved before Hon'ble High Court of Orissa, challenging the sun set date for implementation of DAS under Phase - III of Digitisation mandate issued by Government of India. On hearing of the case, the Hon'ble High Court, while noting various contentions of the Company including difficulties due to non-availability of Set-Top Boxes (STBs), directed Government of India to consider the representation submitted by Ortel in this regard within two months from communication of the order by giving opportunity of hearing to Ortel and has also directed not to take any coercive action till then.
On similar other developments, the Hon’ble High Court, Hyderabad, on hearing of separate writ petitions filed by other stake holders, has granted two months stay on digitisation mandate (Phase-Ill) in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana where the Company has its operations.
The Company would also like to inform that it has already placed orders for its entire requirement of STBs and made necessary advance payments. So the additional time will help the Company to organise balance STBs and creation of other facilities for digital services. Ortel will expedite deployment of STBs and accordingly complete the implementation of Digitization under Phase-Ill. |
