| Exchange Disseminated Time | Impex Ferro Tech Ltd has informed BSE that out of the 5 (five) submerged arc furnace of the Company at its site, the operation of 2 (two) submerged arc furnace of having 5.00 MVA and 3.60 MVA capacities is disrupted due to fire on February 12, 2009 at about 18.55 Hrs. The fire occurred due to short circuit to the lighting circuit of 5 MVA furnaces and resulted in several electric short circuits.
Due to the fire the control and high voltage cables some electrical components of both furnaces and a transformer of 5 MVA, 33KVA/90-160V is totally damaged. The damaged caused by the fire is properly insured and the necessary intimation to the Insurance Company is already given to immediately depute the surveyor to investigate the damages and proceed in the matter so that the Company can immediately start repairing and replacement job.
The Company is working on the estimates of the losses in revenue and production due to the damages and shut down which will be informed to the exchange. |
