| Exchange Disseminated Time | Ester Industries Ltd has informed BSE regarding a Press Release dated November 18, 2010 titled "Installation of Continuous Polymerization (CP) plant & Additional Metalizing unit".

"Ester Industries Ltd installed Continuous Polymerization plant with a capacity of producing 180 tons per day (tpd) and started production of PET resin from this plant in first week of November 2010. Continuous Polymerization (CP) is a newer technology which has various advantages over batch polymerisation process. Most important advantage of CP is better and consistent quality of the PET resin which will further result in improving the BOPET film quality and consistency in production. Other major advantage is cost of production & consumption which will be lower than batch polymerization because of continuous production technology.
Polymer melt from CP plant will be directly fed to new BOPET film line (30,000MTPA) which is currently under installation. Production from the new BOPET film line is expected to start in mid of December 2010. About 50% of PET resin from CP will be granulated for the existing lines and rest will be directly fed to new BOPET line in molten polymer form. This is new technology for the BOPET film lines and is called Direct film casting (DFC). In this technology, molten polymer is transferred to BOPET line and casted in film sheet; the processes of drying and extrusion are eliminated, which used to consume most of the energy in earlier lines. Hence there will be substantial energy saving by use of DFC technology. This is also an environment friendly technology with zero discharge.
The Company also commissioned additional metalizing unit of 2850mm film width with capacity of 7200 metric tons per annum (mtpa)." |
