Escort Heart Institute & Research Centre Limited (EHIRCL) had received an order dated June 09, 2016 ("Order") from Directorate General of Health Services ("DGHS") for the recovery of Rs. 503,36,52,824/- (Rupees Five Hundred & Three Crores, Thirty Six Lac, Fifty-Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Four only) on account of alleged unwarranted profits made by it for the period prior to 2006-07 by not complying with the conditions set forth in the judgement dated March 22, 2007 of Hon'ble High Court of Delhi in Writ Petition (C) No. 2866 of 2002 in Social Jurists, A Lawyers Group v. Govt. of NCT of Delhi (the "Judgment")
Fortis Healthcare Ltd has now informed BSE that EHIRCL challenged the Order by way of a Writ Petition, viz. WP (C) No. 5782 of 2016, before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi. On August 01, 2016, the Hon'ble High Court set aside the Order issued by DGHS observing that DGHS has agreed to grant an opportunity of personal hearing to EHIRCL. The official copy of the order is yet to be received. |
