  3. How can I register my clients in BSE Webx?

It is very easy to register clients in BSE Webx. You can either register clients one by one or upload a batch file with the list of clients (in the specified format). You can click on the following link to understand the process of client registration
    http://www.bsewebx.co.in/admin/PresentationLayer/BatFlashdemo/BAT_Users_Manual.zip

Members can create a profile or different set of profiles for different types of clients. A profile is a set of rules which a Member needs to define for each client which once selected by the Member while registering the client will pick up all the features/facilities the Member needs to allow to each respective client. If a Member uses this profile while registering the clients, he does not need to give the same set of facilities to different clients again and again. This saves the time and leads to easy client registration.

    Profile creation

Registration of clients involves five steps:

Step 1 : Add clients (basic details of the client)
    Step 2 : Assign products
    Step 3 : Add segment
    Step 4 : Add basket
Step 5 : Add violation rules

When a Member creates profiles, he also has to go through the above five steps. He can prepare different profiles for different types of customers and keep. Whatever set of rules he need to define in this profile he can do. Now when he goes to client creation he just has to go to add clients enter the basic details of the clients and select the profile he needs to give that client. All other facilities like segment, product, auto-square off facility, type of product allotted, money deposited will be entered automatically

As such, the Member does not need to go through steps 2,3,4 again and again while registering clients.

**While steps 1,2,3 and 4 are mandatory, step 5 is not.. If a Member registers a client and does not go through any one of the first 4 steps, the client will not be able to put in orders.

  16. What is a Multiplier?

The Member may allow you to trade for a value more than what you have deposited with him. This works like a credit. You have to deposit some amount for getting permission to trade, and you may be permitted to trade more than what you have deposited. The Member would then collect from you the amount required to settle all the trades you have executed.

This is done through the use of a multiplier. This multiplier is applied on the amount deposited to set the limit up to which you can trade through the system.

  16. What is Exposure? What are GAE, GUE, NAE, and NUE?

Exposure is the limit allowed by the broker for you to trade. The upper limit given to the investor is known as the Gross Allocated Exposure (GAE). GAE is calculated by multiplying the margin by the multiplier.

For example, if the Margin Deposited is Rs. 1000.00 and the multiplier allowed is 5, the GAE would be 1000 X 5 = Rs. 5000.00. This implies that you can place orders worth Rs. 5000.00.

Gross Used Exposure (GUE) is the limit that you have used by placing orders. This is calculated from the value of orders that you have placed during the day.

As the number of orders placed by you increases, the Gross Used Exposure would also increase. Indirectly, the Exposure available to you would decrease as and when you place new orders.

This GUE includes value of all the orders placed by you, i.e. orders that are executed as well as the orders that are pending to be executed.

Net Allocated Exposure is the limit allocated to you by the broker for trading. This again is calculated by multiplying the Margin Deposited with the assigned Multiplier.

Similarly, Net Used Exposure (NUE) is the limit used by you from that allocated to you by the broker.

Both NAE and NUE are similar to GAE and GUE, the only difference being that NAE and NUE take into account only the trades executed by you, whereas the GAE and GUE take into account the pending as well as the traded orders.

  17. What happens if I make a Profit or a Loss?

Generally, when you make a profit or a loss, the same is added to or deducted from the Margin Available as the case may be. Your Margin Available and Exposures Available are then calculated afresh.

    Top

  18. What is Mark-to-Market Margin (M2M Margin)?

Mark-to-Market Margin is a notional profit or loss that is calculated based on the price movements of the stocks in which you have open positions. This again impacts your Margin Available.

For example, if you have purchased 100 shares of XYZ @ Rs. 20 each. This means that your open position for XYZ is BUY XYZ 100 shares @ Rs. 20 each. If the Last Traded Price (LTP) of XYZ is Rs. 21, this means that if you sell your shares now, you can make a profit of Re. 1 per share, i.e. a total profit of Rs. 100.. This is a notional profit.

Similarly, if the LTP is Rs. 19, then you make a notional loss of Rs. 100. Some adjustment is made, in the Margin Deposited by you for these notional profits and losses that may arise due to the price movements of the stocks in which you have an open position.

    Top

  19. What is Booked Profit / Loss (BPL)?

Booked Profit / Loss is the actual profit or loss made by you as a result of your trading. This is not a notional profit or loss as calculated in the case of M2M. Therefore, BPL does not arise as and when the LTP changes but is calculated only when you actually trade and actually make a profit or loss.

For example, If you buy 100 shares of XYZ @ Rs. 20 each and sell 100 shares of XYZ @ Rs. 21, you have a booked profit of Rs. 100. This is calculated only when you execute both buy and sell trades of a given security.

BPL is calculated only on the actual number of shares on which you have made a profit or loss.In the above example, if you buy 100 shares, but sell 50 shares only @ Re. 1 profit per share, BPL would be calculated only for the 50 shares on which you have made a profitand not on the other 50 shares.

BPL isalso adjusted against the Margin Deposited by you with the broker.

  20. What will happen if I exceed my Exposure Limits?

Typically, all the orders you place beyond this value would get rejected. These orders would not even reach BSE;The BSE Webx system itself would reject them.

The broker has the right to suspend or lock your account if you exceed this limit. It is always better not to exceed this limit.

      •  Intra day High/ Low Price.

    • Market Depth

After this is traded, another 200 is automatically released and so on till the full order is executed. BSE may set minimum disclosed quantity criteria from time to time.

    • Charting
A "chart" is a graphical representation of a scrip's price movement in a window. A chart can contain price plots, indicators, line studies, text, etc. in one or multiple inner windows.

" Charting is one of the most effective tools for technical analysis. BSE WEBX supports most of the popular charting tools. Charts can opened in any of the following types:

      •  Candle Stick,
      •  OHLC (Open - High - Low - Close)
      •  Mountain
      •  Line.

Another feature of Charting in BSE Webx is that you can save these charts in the application, similar to a Market Watch Window.

    • Intra Day Charts
An intra day chart shows the price movements of a scrip on a given day. This can be viewed with price values tick-by-tick, minute-by-minute and hourly also. It shows all the traded prices of a given security for a given scrip.

    • End-of-day chart
An End-of-day chart shows prices movements over a period of time. It shows the opening and closing prices for each day, week, quarter or year. This shows the price movements for a longer period. You can increase or decrease the span of the chart by using the + / - keys in the keyboard as well as the boxes below the charts.
