Dissemination of Indicative Close Value of Indices

Trading members are hereby informed that it is proposed to disseminate indicative close value of S&P BSE SENSEX and S&P BSE BANKEX indices as a value-added information to all market participants. This will be in addition to the existing practice of online dissemination of present index values during trading hours and close index values once continuous trading session in Equity segment is over.

Highlights of Indicative Close Value

• The Indicative close values of S&P BSE SENSEX and S&P BSE BANKEX indices shall be disseminated during the last 30 minutes of trading hours in Equity segment, i.e. between 3:00 to 3:30pm.
• These values shall be updated at an interval of approximately 2 minutes during this time period.
• These values shall be available on BOLT Pro and BOLT Plus on Web (BoW) terminals as well as displayed prominently on the Exchange website (www.bseindia.com).
• Further, the indicative close values shall also be disseminated in the existing index broadcast messages in addition to the present index values which are disseminated during trading hours. There are minor changes in the index broadcast message formats of NFCAST and MDI/EMDI interfaces. However, these changes are optional in nature.
• There is no change in the calculation or dissemination mechanism of present index values and the same will continue as per the existing practice for all online indices.

Trading members may kindly note that these indicative close values shall be disseminated only as reference information to give market participants an approximate representation of approaching close value of these indices.

Trading members and third-party trading application vendors may kindly refer to the enclosed document for the BSE Direct NFCAST broadcast format changes to understand the implementation mechanism of dissemination of indicative close values of the above-mentioned indices and get their systems developed to receive and display the same on their trading application respectively. For MDI/EMDI index broadcast, there is no change in the message format. Kindly refer to the BSE Direct NFCAST manual ver. 2.0 and MDI/EMDI API version 1.4.1 uploaded on www.bseindia.com/nta.aspx for more details.

The above-mentioned enhancement is available for testing in the test (simulation) environment of Equity segment.

The enhancement will be made available in the live environment with effect from Monday, May 08, 2023 onwards. Further, it will also be enabled during the mock trading session on Saturday, May 06, 2023 to familiarise market participants about the same.
