This is with refence to Exchange circular nos. 20160425-45 dated April 25, 2016 and 20160504-23, dated May 04, 2016 related to facility for trading members to provide the participant code (CP code) at the time of entering orders for clients whose trades are settled by their custodian/clearing member.
For the benefit of trading members and front-end trading application vendors, features of this facility are reiterated herewith as follows –
- Trading members can provide CP code along with client code and client type at the time of order entry.
- Currently, 4 client types are supported in Equity Derivatives & Currency Derivatives segments – CLIENT, OWN, INST, SPLCLI at the time of entering orders (kindly refer circular no. 20130729-23, dated July 29, 2013 for more details on client types)
- Facility of entering CP code is available only for client type ‘INST’- Institutional client and ‘SPLCLI’- Special Client (non-institutional client)
- To facilitate this, Participant master file consisting of CP codes is provided to members on daily basis (kindly refer circular no. 20160418-34 dated April, 18 2016 for more details on the participant master file)
Trading members are advised to note the features mentioned above and use the client types suitably in their front-end trading application while placing CP code-based orders. Further, it is the responsibility of trading members/clients to ensure the same to prevent mismatch in trade confirmation by the custodian/clearing member of that client.
Front-end trading application vendors are also advised to ensure that the features mentioned above are made available in their respective trading application provided to the trading members.
